About Us

DMC Situated in Dhankuta Bazaar, the headquarter of Dhankuta district (in Eastern Nepal), Dhankuta Multiple Campus (DMC) was established in 1955 A.D. The foundation stone of the first building of this campus was laid by the late king Mahendra in May, 1956. The campus operated in its capacity as a degree college, running Intermediate and Bachelor’s level courses in Humanities and social sciences, from its establishment till 1973. Then it was converted to a Multiple Campus, in accordance with the new policy adopted by the National Education System Plan (NESP) that was introduced in Nepal in 1971. As a Multiple Campus, i.e. the faculty of Education and that of Humanities and Social Sciences. And to strengthen the economic status of this campus, the resident of Bhirgau colonel Mr Bhakta Bahadur Basnet donated 100 acres of land which is situated in Baigundhura, Jhapa district. Responding to the growing need of people to educate their children in various disciplines, the campus has made constant efforts to extend its educational programmes. As a result, it now runs Bachelor’s level classes in Education, Commerce, Science and Humanities faculties and master’s level courses in Nepali, English, Rural Development and Masters in Business studies. Realising the global opportunities and need of students the campus has provided to its students with a well equipped ICT Lab and E-library which help to enhance the technocratic knowledge of students. Whilst the importance of all the disciplines taught in the campus cannot be underestimated, the courses offered under the faculty of Education have been the main attraction, hence making this faculty the focal point of this institution.
